ABOUT THE BOOK
The Island of dark secrets lies close to Maui. Few have ventured there, fewer have returned.
With a map in hand, extreme-sports enthusiasts, Kyle and Donna, descend to the depths of the Pacific Ocean in search of treasure. Will they find it? And will they survive?
Peering eyes are everywhere, lurking and in wait, ready to take back what’s theirs.
Some things are better left buried.

MY THOUGHTS
I do love a prologue that makes me hungry for what is to follow in a story and Jim Ody certainly served up a real tasty nugget for me to want to get tucked in. The story centres around Kyle and Donna a young couple that is about to go on an adventure of their lives. Donna has been left a treasure map that promises her all the wealth she could want. All she has to do is travel to a Hawaiian Island, hire someone to take her out in their boat into the middle of the ocean, dive down and get it.
Oh boy, Donna is one determined lady, she knows that Kyle will do anything she asks of him. Things have been flagging between them and Kyle will do whatever it takes to make their relationship work.
The story moves to Maui where Jim Ody brings it to life in spectacular technicolour in each chapter. Donna lives in ‘Donna World’ and she is the centre of it, she only has eyes for herself and Kyle only has eyes for her so they haven’t clue that they haven’t arrived there on their own, they have company.
I loved the subtle humour that popped up and gave the story a lightness but still kept me edgy at the same time. There is such an innocence about the pair of them no matter what is going on around them. You really can’t help but like them and want them to find the treasure. There are some pretty wicked characters and a few fatalities.
A cracking story that isn’t overlong but packs in a lot of entertainment, thrills and beauty.
I wish to thank Book on the Bright Side Publicity and Promotion for an e-copy of this book which I have reviewed honestly.
