Death Deserved (Alexander Blix & Emma Ramm #1) by Jørn Lier Horst, Thomas Enger, Anne Bruce (Translator) @LierHorst @EngerThomas @OrendaBooks @annecater #BlogTour #NewRelease #NordicNoir #BlixAndRamm #DeathDeserved #DeadFamous

Firstly I wish to thank Anne Cater representing Orenda Books for inviting me on the Blog Tour for Death Deserved by Jørn Lier Horst and Thomas Enger.

Police officer Alexander Blix and celebrity blogger Emma Ramm join forces to track down a serial killer with a thirst for attention and high-profile murders, in the first episode of a gripping new Nordic Noir series…

Oslo, 2018. Former long-distance runner Sonja Nordstrøm never shows at the launch of her controversial autobiography, Always Number One. When celebrity blogger Emma Ramm visits Nordstrøm’s home later that day, she finds the door unlocked and signs of a struggle inside. A bib with the number ‘one’ has been pinned to the TV.

Police officer Alexander Blix is appointed to head up the missing-persons investigation, but he still bears the emotional scars of a hostage situation nineteen years earlier, when he killed the father of a five-year-old girl. Traces of Nordstrøm soon show up at different locations, but the appearance of the clues appear to be carefully calculated … evidence of a bigger picture that he’s just not seeing…

Blix and Ramm soon join forces, determined to find and stop a merciless killer with a flare for the dramatic, and thirst for attention.
Trouble is, he’s just got his first taste of it…

Death Deserved (Alexander Blix)

When police officer Alexander Blix calls a man’s bluff in a hostage situation he has a gut feeling that everything is going to go terribly wrong. Nineteen years later that day has never left him and still impacts on his career and life.

When former long-distance runner Sonja Nordstrøm is a no show for the launch of her autobiography, Always Number One, celebrity blogger Emma Ramm calls on her at home. What she finds is pretty evident that something very sinister has happened. This is just the beginning of a string of celebrity abductions and subsequent murders. Blix and Ramm come together to not only hunt down the person responsible but also to try and predict who is going to be the next victim.

This is the first time that these two authors have come together to jointly write a book and what a perfect pairing it is. The story runs seamlessly as one thought, where you can almost hear one of them beginning a sentence to have it finished by the other. From the opening chapter, destinies are mapped with characters that are moulded from what life throws at them.

This is an absolutely stunning storyline, that screams for the Miss Marple wannabes to move aside and make room for Emma Ramm with her out of the box thinking that everyone else is out of step with except Alexander Blix. It is the dawn of a new partnership that has me sizzling with excitement.

There isn’t a page that lulls. Bam, bam, bam, while the police force is trying to work out what has just happened, Blix and Ramm are working out possibilities of what is to come next. With the plot becoming one that is too close to home for Blix. My heart was doing its own marathon keeping up with this race against time. I really can’t praise this book enough. It is a beaut! Highly recommended. Perfect pairing both in and out of this book.

I wish to thank the publisher for an e-copy of this book which I have reviewed honestly.
