HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS AND REVIEW
Kent Fisher is soon in the spotlight again, in this the 5th book in the series. When Gemma, the love of his life, turns up on his doorstep, a runaway bride from Richard, the man she had left Kent for, she declares her undying love for him. The only thing is Kent has moved on and his new lady, Freya, is inside his house now.
The situation soon turns sour when a case that Gemma had worked on, with Kent as her boss goes belly up with a restaurant owner going all out to discredit Kent and sue the council. The more Kent tries to sort this mess out the worse the situation becomes.
At the same time, Kent has been called in to assess a man’s property and possessions after the man had taken his own life. Kent’s job is to sift through paperwork and try to find signs that he could have had relatives about somewhere and if he has enough capital to pay for his funeral. Kent being Kent soon finds cause for concern, did the man die by his own hand or the possibly by someone else?
When a third man dies it is time to get the dot to dot puzzles out, you just need to work out how they are all connected and who the link is.
Oh gosh, Kent only wants the simple life but life always seems to throw a spanner or two in the works. Robert Crouch brings these characters and story to life with humour and warmth, frustrations and heart in your mouth moments. His love life is never straight forward, his work as an environmental officer complicated and his animal sanctuary his haven. The stories always begin with a wow and end with and…………… The good news is the 6th book already has a title.
A super series, brilliant angle for the stories and Kent is a top bloke! Highly recommended.
HERE, IS A LITTLE ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Rob Crouch lives and works in East Sussex, England, in the shadow of the beautiful South Downs. During his career as an environmental health officer, he’s focused on improving hygiene standards in food businesses. This has led to him editing and writing for a respected food hygiene manual for caterers. He has also specialized in workplace health and safety in the leisure and service sectors, investigating several fatal work accidents. But secretly, he’s always wanted to solve a murder. It started when he watched TV’s Lieutenant Columbo unpick perfect murders with an affable but dogged pursuit of incongruous details. A healthy diet of crime fiction and drama followed, including Sherlock Holmes, Inspector Morse, and Miss Marple. When he became an avid fan of Sue Grafton’s Kinsey Millhone, he realized he wanted to create a different kind of private detective to solve his murders. Set beneath the rolling hills of the South Downs, No Accident is Rob’s first novel featuring Kent Fisher, an environmental health officer with more baggage than an airport carousel. Within minutes of arriving at the scene of a fatal work accident, he uncovers details that don’t quite make sense. Like his hero, Columbo, Kent digs deeper and deeper, disregarding procedure, until work and his personal life collide with devastating consequences.
