Five feet one and full of fizz, Jennifer Brown has learned to roll with the punches and adapt to whatever life throws at her. It’s thrown plenty in the past and she’s had to use her steely core to reinvent herself, first as cook and housekeeper to a saucy sexagenarian, then as manager of a tumbledown country estate with sensitive secrets. In Jennifer Brown On The Move, this Bridget Jones with knobs on is taking charge of her life again, showing the world she can move in the most exalted, high-power circles and lose not an ounce of her gutsy, down-to-earth charm. Her hilarious cross-dressing confidant Will is on hand once again, with pearls of caustic wisdom, and her old boss Jonathan Dashwood-Silk breezes in and out of her life, still dripping charisma but still needing our heroine to dig him out of the odd hole. As she crosses continents and breaks bread with the world’s movers and shakers, Jennifer Brown finds her mind still troubled by thoughts of the quiet man with the warm eyes and the velvet vowels. Then that daydream is torpedoed when she’s invited to his wedding.
But you know Jennifer. She never gives up!
HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS AND REVIEW:
If you want a real lighthearted read that just totally rocks then go no further, this is a little gem. I defy anyone to read this book and not be totally taken with Jennifer Brown when you are done. She is savvy, she is bright and definitely beautiful but most of all she is full of love and life.
I read the first book, which introduced me to Jennifer a little while ago which was brilliant but I must say that this just upped the ante for me. I laughed till I cried and I cried till I laughed she is such a blast.
Jennifer can put her hand to any job she takes a fancy to and with the gift of the gab can manage to wrap most people round her finger, in a really good way because everyone is just better for being with her. She makes you ache to be part of her friends’ list. She certainly globe-trots in this book and I was determined that I would keep in step with her. It was riotous!
So looking forward to new adventures with Jennifer in the next episode. A perfect holiday read and a perfect pick me up!
I wish to thank the author for an e-copy of this book which I have reviewed honestly.
HERE IS A LITTLE ABOUT THE AUTHOR
I grew up in Somerset and have lived in the south west of England all my life. Nowadays my home is in the beautiful Woodford Valley near Salisbury, on the banks of the river Avon. A tiny piece of heaven and a true writers paradise.
When I’m not writing, I’m a keen wildlife photographer and am currently working on a book of poems for children all about the local wildlife who live along the riverbank.
Writing Jennifer Brown’s Journey was a labour of love for me. Most of the book is based on my true-life experiences, enhanced by my furtive imagination which takes over as humorous characters and situations are brought in to provide the chapters with the emotional balance I feel is required. Many of these humorous elements are the result of everyday observations
