Firstly I wish to thank Sarah Hardy of Book on the Bright Side for inviting me on the Blog Tour for ST. BENET’S by David Blake
BOOK DESCRIPTION
THE DEBUT CRIME THRILLER SERIES OF THE YEAR!
“Wow! Even better than Broadland!” Anna Burke
A girl thrown from a church tower, a man sacrificed to Satan, and a priest murdered at the hands of the Devil.
When the body of an old man is found lying in the ruins of St Benet’s Abbey, his throat cut, a knife resting in his open hand, DI John Tanner and DC Jenny Evans are given no choice but to accept a ruling of death by misadventure.
But when the body goes missing from its tomb, after a priest is found nailed to a cross, and another impaled on a stake, everything begins to point back to the murder of a teenage girl, thrown from the top of a church tower, some forty-three years before.
Set within the mysterious beauty of the Norfolk Broads, this fast-paced British detective series is a cozy murder mystery with a slice of humour and a touch of romance, one that will have you guessing until the very end, when the last shocking twist is finally revealed.
St. Benet’s is a totally addictive gripping crime thriller, the second in a chilling series of serial killer books, ones which will rapidly convert followers of L J Ross, Faith Martin, Joy Ellis, Damien Boyd and Helen H. Durrant into David Blake devotees.

HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS AND REVIEW:
I was so excited when I knew that this book had been published which made me feel like a chocoholic that had been locked in a sweetie factory and boy did it leave me with one mighty sugar rush!!!
I had loved the first book in this new series, Broadland, and just hoped that this book would equal it, well it did that and more. The opening chapter was set some years ago and left me with my imagination doing flips and my blood boiling. I was in no doubt that the next few hours would have me crawling the walls and cringing in equal measures.
I was delighted with present-day events and one of my already favourite crime-solving couples in the form of DI John Tanner and DC Jenny Evans being very settled together. This pair bounce off each other, seem to be on the same track and yet still very independent but this story puts them on dodgy ground which made me grind my teeth and want to knock their heads together!
There is a speight of present-day murders, brutal and yet personal to each victim with the connection between them all being the event from the past. Someone is on a mission and everyone is keeping quiet. I love Tanner’s endurance, his get to the truth no matter who or what stands in his way. I had to giggle at times at his rebellious and mischievous behaviour. Boy, I love this man. (Did I just say that about a fictional character?)
I was inside the head of this killer and eventually knew the terror of his victims. It is horrific. My emotions were well and truly hung out to dry with this one and had my heart in my mouth sentence after sentence. OMG, how could I feel this breathless doing nothing but read!
This is one hell of a keep up with what is going down story that made me read at an incredible speed. There were murders, fall outs, warnings and threats. I was in my element! I had it worked out, I thought, how wrong I was, whoa my blood went to ice as the conclusion unfolded. What a masterpiece this is! Don’t keep me waiting Mr. Blake bring on number three!!!!!!!
