HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS AND REVIEW

I absolutely loved The Mechanic Trilogy but move over darling because Bloody hell  there is a new girl in town. DI Rosalind Kray makes quite a dramatic entrance in this new offering from author Rob Ashman. She is straight away a lady that I want in my corner because she is not one bit frightened of shouting the odds and getting things done. She has to because of her past. She calls a spade a spade and an obvious murdered young woman one that the big guys at the top have to get down and get involved with now. No Bull Shit! What looks horrendous just doesn’t reflect the findings of the post-mortem.

Now you can’t argue facts can you, well be prepared to have your mind played with and feel like someone hasn’t quite put it all back because 2 and 2 are now making 5 as far as time lines go and Specsavers could do a roaring business from it. This is probably the best serial killer that I have read about to date knocking The Mechanic, my previous top-notch killer off top spot. Rob Ashman is a superb writer that hits the mark every time.

I really don’t want to go into the story line too much because it is one of those that impact with shocks all the way through. A super unique and thrilling story line that had me feel uncomfortable even in a room full of people. Powerful, shocking and just sheer brilliance. Kray gives a super performance bringing ghosts with her from the past that are constantly by her side. This gives the story a new dimension as it dips back to what has gone on not too long ago. This was Kray’s first case after returning to work. Whoa this is brutal and totally heart wrenching stuff.

Now you may have guessed that by now I am going to say that this is the easiest 5 stars that I could give and you would be right. This is one of my all time favourite authors. Just stunning!

HERE IS A LITTLE ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Rob is married to Karen with two grown up daughters. He is originally from South Wales and after moving around with work settled in North Lincolnshire where he’s spent the last twenty-two years.

Like all good welsh valley boys Rob worked for the National Coal Board after leaving school at sixteen and went to University at the tender age of twenty-three when the pit closures began to bite. Since then he’s worked in a variety of manufacturing and consulting roles both in the UK and abroad.

It took Rob twenty-four years to write his first book. He only became serious about writing it when his dad got cancer. It was an aggressive illness and Rob gave up work for three months to look after him and his mum. Writing Those That Remain became his coping mechanism. After he wrote the book his family encouraged him to continue, so not being one for half measures, Rob got himself made redundant, went self-employed so he could devote more time to writing and four years later the Mechanic Trilogy is the result.

When he is not writing, Rob is a frustrated chef with a liking for beer and prosecco, and is known for occasional outbreaks of dancing.

Rob published the Mechanic Trilogy with Bloodhound Books in 2017 and will be releasing three new books during 2018. These are titled: Faceless, This Little Piggy and Suspended Retribution.
