Order. Attention to detail. Never leaving anything to chance. These are the qualities that make Riley Ness such a terrific federal agent . . . and a pain in the ass to everyone else. The only time Riley lets loose is when he’s hanging out with his closest pals. So when he’s thrown together with gorgeous, flighty Summer Sheridan, Riley’s brain tells him she’s a ticking time bomb—but his body doesn’t want to play by the rules.
Riley has to be the most irritating man Summer has ever met. The brooding hunk thinks he needs to teach her a few lessons about real life, while she’d rather show him how to enjoy it. But her BFF’s all but engaged to Riley’s best friend, and besides, their intense physical chemistry is all too real. Summer just needs Riley to try to meet her halfway and take a chance with the one thing that matters: his heart.
HERE IS MY THOUGHTS AND REVIEW
I just love this super series as each of these emotionally damaged men are finally learning that it is ok to have a life besides each other. They had been a tight group in college but when a trip to Europe had almost wiped them out they vowed to always be there for each other, blood brothers, but instead of protecting them it was also keeping them locked in the past.
In each of the first three books three naked men found love in the most unexpected places, at times causing a huge rift in the group, but nothing could ever really keep them apart for long. By the way ‘the naked men’ are fully dressed. That is the name of the pod cast they run where they open their hearts, talk about girls and men issues that are quite often not spoken about. The taboo subjects. A safe haven where no question is deemed not worthy to bring up. Not that they don’t get naked in these books because oh my they do so do be warned as these scenes are very descriptive.
This, the forth book in the series, is about the worrier of the group, the what if man that prepares for every possible thing that can go wrong. Riley Ness is a very fit and extremely efficient federal agent, but he just can not turn off. One particular young lady drives him mad. No not like must have her mad, but because she is so reckless in her actions, a total polar opposite of him and being a friend of Chloe, one of his mates girlfriend, very hard to avoid. They do have one thing in common, neither of them can stand being in the same room with each other for long. Now this is going to be a challenge!
Christi Barth’s series is a really joy to read. The base story of these men when they were younger is always retold in each of the books but through the eyes of the main character so there are variations, new information to what was relevant to that individual. They all had different injuries and different perspectives about the crash, with each of them scared mentally and physically to different degrees. Just love the characters she has created that are all so very different and the girls, can’t forget them. There is humour in these books, parts that make you cringe and very tender times. A very special bred of men and women that have the ability to break the barriers down finally and live a normal life. Super series.
HERE IS A LITTLE ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Christi can always be found either whipping up gourmet meals (for fun, honest!) or with her nose in a book. She lives in Maryland with the best husband in the world.
