HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS AND MY REVIEW

Alex Caan has exposed me to a whole new world, in this his debut novel, one which I was sort of aware but didn’t really give a lot of thought to of how much influence and power it has. Ruby Day was a vlogger, a step up from a regular blogger that writes. A vlogger posts live spots on the net. It can all be very big business if they have a massive following and sponsors will then pay for their products to be pushed or even just be seen to be used by them. Ruby Day was a very influential and out spoken vlogger, so when she goes missing all hell breaks loose to find her. Was it something she said?

I really enjoyed this novel and would describe it as shocking in places. Scenes that I would read, stop and think OMG did that just really happen? then I would get my head around it and need to know more. I loved how the investigation opened up so many different avenues and suspects in the case. A very good plot that kept me entertained.

The characters were perfect, most of which I did not care for but I feel that this was what the author Alex Caan was aiming for. I found DCI Kate Riley and DS Zain Harris quite a fascinating pairing, both with their own complicated lives both present and past. I hope that Alex Caan is going to continue with this pair in future novels.

I wish to thank Netgalley and the publisher Bonnier Zaffre for the arc of this book which I have chosen to review.
